Good luck with your own wishlists, my lovelies!

THE BASICS: write a Christmas/Holiday wish list. It can be any 10 wishes you'd like to have granted, no matter what they are. Possible or seemingly impossible. People look and grant the wishes if they can. It's not about "OMFG PRESENTS", it's about making someone else's holiday a little brighter by giving. Personally, I get more out of giving than receiving sometimes. It's just a good feeling to give.

STEP ONE

** Make a post in your journal. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fun ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

** If you wish for real possible things, make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. In this case, you can always just note someone on dA for the sake of privacy.

** Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, so that others can join in and participate to spread the holiday joy!


STEP TWO

** Surf this forum ([link]) and browse the lists. Here's the important part:

** If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

** You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.


My list:
1: A/some Sherrilyn Kenyon books. Preferably earlier ones. I've only read "Night Pleasures" and "Dance with the Devil" but I've gotten addicted to her style and epicly sexy characters. If you have any used copies that you don't mind parting with, I'll love you forever.
2: Nicer dark chocolate (no higher than 70% though please, past that's a bit too bitter). I am a textbook example of a chocoholic and I'm always wishing for it but I haven't had any reallllly good chocolate in ages. I've been stuck with Hershey's when I crave something with a little more...flavor to it. (Also, should you feel inclined to grant this wish, you should know that I'm allergic to nuts.) It doesn't have to be anything expensive, I'm just looking for something...high-quality. If you know of some obscure but awesome brand, even letting me know the name or linking me to their website would grant this wish.
3: A top hat. I honestly don't expect a top hat from anyone, they are so much more pricey than I ever would have guessed but I love hats and I've always really wanted a top hat because they look so damn snazzy. (I saw one the other day that fit perfectly and was so amazing...but it was an antique so it cost $225! I was so depressed.)
4: It may seem silly but I really wish my parents or someone else in my family would buy me a full (tailored) suit with a white collared shirt and tie... but my mom thinks that wanting a men's suit means that I dream of a sex-change and that I have serious gender identity issues (which is utter BS, I just think they're really sexy and that I can pull off the formal look), so she'll never spring for one and my dream is rather crushed by her close-mindedness.
5: A real breast binder (like something from T-Kingdom). They're approximately 40 bucks so I can't really spring for it but having one would make all my cosplay plans marginally easier to cope with. I do not want to have to use an ace bandage again, their such pains in the ass.
6: I wish that just once, I could go shoe shopping without dying a little on the inside and feeling like I have clown feet. I love how shoes look but none of them are meant for someone with long, thin feet; 95% of the other size 10's have wide feet so any shoe that does look good in my size fits godawful but also, shoes are designed to look good in size 6 or 7, and those are the only sizes they look good in so even badly fitting good-looking size 10's are hard to find. I wear converse and walk quickly past shoe stores. It's better than the shame and frustration of trying and failing again and again.
7: More than most other things, I wish Gorillaz or Deathstars would have an American concert. Either would be heaven but neither have any American tours any time soon...In fact, Deathstars has never ever had an American tour. Ever. *tear*
8: I wish I would get more activity on dA. The rare times that I do find myself proud of a picture I post, so few people ever see it. This probably sounds greedy and self-centered, I should be earning my attention, and I apologize if it does. I don't mean it that way, it's just that....nevermind I can't justify it I guess, but any other unrecognized deviant probably understands.
9: I wish my mother would give me some space........but don't tell her I said that.
10: I wish, above any of the other things written on this list, that the person I plan on asking out very soon will say yes.
